Here we go. This popped into my head a while ago, so here it is. This is my first attempt at fanfic and I blame it entirley on Shonda Rhimes for providing way too many interesting characters and potential plots for me to play around with in my mind... and maybe a little on ABC for not putting the season two DVD out until September.
Title:Apologies
Pairing:Addison/Alex
Rating:PG13/R-ish
Summary: Addison was sick of apologies
Disclaimer: nothing is mine

Alex Karev didn’t do apologies. He never apologized for giving George syphilis, or for mouthing off to his superiors, or for the way he talked to Denny. So it only makes sense that he didn’t apologize for fucking Dr. Addison Montgomery.
And that was just what Addison wanted, just what she needed. Because with Derek everything had been apologies. In New York it had been apologies for working overtime, for standing her up night after night, and for always canceling vacation plans at the very last minute because some new high profile case had come in. Later, when she arrived in Seattle she was forced to hear the old apologies over again, along with new ones for hurting her back. Because he did hurt her back, though he never had the balls to admit it. He always cushioned his blows, not for her sake, but for the sake of his own conscience. Even the confession he had made at Christmas about having fallen in love with Meredith Grey had been prefaced with a pathetic “I’m not saying this to hurt you…” What should have been an open, honest, smack in the face was made into a brutal kick in the back of the knee. The blow still brought her crashing down, but, because he hadn’t meant to hurt her, Derek got to keep his halo.
Then there were the apologies she had to make. Sincere expressions of regret and her willingness to let him see her broken, uncertain and vulnerable hadn’t been enough for Derek. Seeing her give up a life in Manhattan, a life that she had been dreaming of and working toward her whole life hadn’t been enough for him either. The way he spoke to her, the way he looked at her made her feel as if he expected her to seek his forgiveness with every gesture she made, every word she spoke, and every breath she took in Seattle.
And then, well, after the prom Addison had heard more apologies than she thought she could stand.
But Alex never apologized. He didn’t apologize for slamming Addison against the wall, or for roughly pulling her hair out of its perfect bun, or for popping buttons off her blouse and putting runs in her panty hose. And right now that was perfect. Because the hair could be put back up, the torn panty hose could be thrown in the on call room trash and missing buttons could easily be hidden by a closed lab coat; but when she stood undressing in her apartment, the damaged bits of clothing stood as testament to the fact that someone wanted her badly enough to not bother being careful about her clothes.
Because Alex never apologized, Addison didn’t feel that she had to either. She didn’t have to apologize for eliciting rumbling groans with her teeth or for leaving deep red marks running down his back with her perfectly manicured nails. Didn’t have to feel bad about repeatedly sleeping with someone just because the sex was great, or for never wanting the post-coital courtesy call that never came. She was even free to smirk condescendingly whenever she outlasted him, because Alex wouldn’t sulk or mope the way Derek had when she made the mistake of doing that while they were first dating. Instead, Alex would do his best (always biting her neck just there and just slightly harder than Derek had ever dared to) to make her come fast and hard, and smirk back at her on his way out of the room.
What she and Alex had was simple. Hot sex in on call rooms without guilt or blame. And that suited Addison just fine, because she was tired of making apologies, and even more tired of hearing them.
